Android N’s Name Is Officially Nougat

Google has officially announced on Snapchat that, the latest version of Android, will be called Android Nougat. It's certainly less exciting than Nutella, which everyone wanted. Nutella probably would have involved some licensing issues, though they managed to do it for Kit Kat.

But at least it’s also better than some user-chosen names like Android ‘Nipples’.

Nougat is the latest dessert-themed version of Android.  It all started with Android 1.5 Cupcake, Android 1.6 Donut, Android 2.0 Eclair, Android 2.2 Froyo, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Android 3.0 Honeycomb, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Android 4.4 KitKat, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Android N will bring features like multi-window support, enhanced notifications, number blocking, and much more.

The new Android version due out later this summer.
