Xiaomi Redmi 3S With 5-inch HD Display and Fingerprint Scanner Launched

Xiaomi has launched an upgraded version of  Redmi 3, called the Redmi 3S, in China. The upgraded version will be available in two variants. The base variant comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage priced at CNY 699 (approx. Rs. 7,000), and the another variant comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal of storage priced at 899 Yuan (approx. Rs. 9,000).

Both the variants will go on sale starting Thursday and will be available via the company's online store, Mi.com. The Company has not revealed any details about the global availability of the handset.

The Redmi 3S is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It has a 5-inch HD IPS display with 720x1280 pixels resolution. The Dual SIM (Micro + Nano) smartphone comes with the hybrid slot which means it will as a microSD card slot or as a second SIM card slot. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7 operating system, and it features a fingerprint scanner at the back panel.

Out of the box, The Redmi 3S comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with F2.0 aperture, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video recording capability. The smartphone supports expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card. 

Regarding Connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Glonass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Micro-USB. The Smartphone packs a 4100mAh battery. It measures 139.3x69.6x8.5 mm and weighs 144 grams. 

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be available in Grey, Silver, and Gold colours variants.
