After PickMi Service, Xiaomi offers Mi Protect Insurance Service for their Customers
Recently Xiaomi launched 'PickMi' service for their Indian customers. The Company is now introducing an insurance service called the 'Mi Protect'. This is a insurance service for Xiaomi Smartphone and Tablet user's and it starting from next week.
Like 'PickMi' service, 'Mi Protect' users would also get a pick and drop service for repair of the smartphone's and tablet's. The Service would provide coverage for devices affected by accidental damage, falling, liquid damage, collision and other damages. It means, If your smartphone/Tablet falls on a hard ground, falls in Liquid, gets spoiled than you can claim for the damage. In case your Smartphone or Tablet is stolen, then Mi Protect service would let users to block their SIM cards from anywhere around the world. And it will also be entitled to a SIM misuse insurance cover of up to Rs. 3,000.

As a part of service, Users will get free 1GB of Cloud storage and assistance to new smartphone users and second servicing of the device within 1 year from activation. To avail 'Mi Protect' service Users would need to call on 1800 407 333333 / 1800 1233330 / 8080 333333. Once you explained about the damage of your device, a Xiaomi Mi Protect member will visit your provided address to access the damage of your device. After the assessment, the Member will initiate the claim verification and free-repair process.
As for the pricing, 'Mi Protect' service costs Rs. 275 for Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime users and Rs. 499 for Mi4i (16GB), Mi Pad, Mi4 (16GB) users with 1 year validity. It only applicable on smartphones and tablets that have been bought from mi.com. Xiaomi also offers a similar service via its exclusive service centers, but the pricing differs. Xiaomi Redmi 1s, Redmi 2, and Redmi 2 Prime users need to pay Rs 425, while the Redmi Note 4G users need to pay Rs 549. Xiaomi Mi 4 users have to pay Rs 899 for the 16GB variant, or Rs 999 for the 64GB variant. Lastly, Mi 4i and Mi 3 users have to pay Rs 749.
